Informational Meeting on Spring Break Trip to Haiti
Are you a part of the Water for Haiti project at Alfred? Do you want to experience the country and the culture of Haiti first hand? Are you a student who is committed to global justice and service? Find out about the Spring Break Trip to Haiti taking place March 4-12, 2017. An informational meeting will be held Thursday, October 6th at 5:00 pm in 218 Perlman Hall. SAVE Training 10/3 and 10/5
SAVE (Schools Against Violence in Education) Training is required for all students pursuing certification as a teacher in New York. It is offered every semester through the Education Division. This semester it will be offered on Oct. 3 and 5 from 11:20 - 12:35 in Myers 336. Attendance at both sessions is required for the training to meet the New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification requirements. Please contact Dr. Jacobson (jacobsonat@alfred.edu) if you need more details.

Dan Lilkas-Rain, a 1996 alumnus of Alfred University (AU) with majors in Environmental Studies and Psychology, will deliver a talk, “ReClotheNY: New York’s Groundbreaking Textile Recovery Campaign” at the Oct. 7 Environmental Studies Speakers Series, scheduled for 12:20 p.m. in Room 247 of the Science Center on the Alfred University campus.

“Double Shot,” an exhibition that “revolves around contemporary coffee culture within the realm of ceramic wares,” will open Friday, Oct. 7, at the Robert C. Turner Gallery, Harder Hall, on the Alfred University campus.

29-Sep-16 — Alfred University professor authors third book,

"The Wisdom of Frugality," a new book by Emrys Westacott, professor of philosophy at Alfred University (AU), has just been published by Princeton University Press. The book asks why so many philosophers, from Socrates to Thoreau, have advocated frugality and simple living, and why so many people continue to ignore them.

“Fugitive,” an installation by Ian McMahon, a 20014 alumnus of Alfred University, will open Oct. 28 at the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery, Harder Hall, on the Alfred University campus.
