SAVE Training 10/3 and 10/5
SAVE (Schools Against Violence in Education) Training is required for all students pursuing certification as a teacher in New York. It is offered every semester through the Education Division. This semester it will be offered on Oct. 3 and 5 from 11:20 - 12:35 in Myers 336. Attendance at both sessions is required for the training to meet the New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification requirements. Please contact Dr. Jacobson (jacobsonat@alfred.edu) if you need more details.
Open Meeting with Mark Zupan
ATS Council is sponsoring an open meeting with Mark Zupan on Tuesday, September 27 at 12:00 pm in Nevins. President Zupan will talk about the role of administrators and technical specialists within the organization and give a first inning assessment of where we are and where we are going. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. All are welcome.
Yoga for Haiti
Hatha yoga classes taught by a Kripalu-certified yoga instructor. Mondays and Wednesdays 5:15-6:45 pm in the Multipurpose Room, McLane extension. All levels welcome. Donations will go to the Water for Haiti adopt-a-well campaign. Contact Cecilia for more information (fbeach@alfred.edu)

Regardless of the type of team you are on (club, residence hall, athletics) it helps to all be united and focusing on a common goal. this workshop will focus on how to build teams that are effective and have a positive impact.

23-Sep-16 — ‘A girl in the room:’ Alfred University alumna to talk about women in science fields

Shihadah “Shay” Saleem, a 2001 alumna with a bachelor’s degree in geology, will present the Sept. 30 talk in the Environmental Studies Speakers Series at Alfred University. Her topic is “A girl in the room: A peek into girls and women in STEM” (Science, technology, engineering or mathematics). The lecture is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. in Room 247 of the Science Center, and is open to the public, free of charge.
