TONIGHT- Neil Jacobs in Concert ! 7:30 pm Miller Theater
Don't miss internationally recognized 12-string guitarist and composer, Neil Jacobs, along with Ukrainian master violinist, Arkadiy Gips and award-winning bassist, Steven Fox transform Gypsy, Jazz, and World Folk into intriguing new music. Informational Meeting on Spring Break Trip to Haiti
Are you a part of the Water for Haiti project at Alfred? Do you want to experience the country and the culture of Haiti first hand? Are you a student who is committed to global justice and service? Find out about the Spring Break Trip to Haiti taking place March 4-12, 2017. An informational meeting will be held Thursday, October 6th at 5:00 pm in 218 Perlman Hall. Water for Haiti Au at Neil Jacobs concert!
Water for Haiti AU will be selling baked goods and water bottles before and after the Neil Jacobs concert in the Miller Theater on Friday, Sept. 30. We will be selling from 7:00 until 7:30 and then again after the concert. No food or drink is allowed in the theater, so if you want a little something sweet BEFORE the concert, come a little early! Or wait until after the concert...or both!

Shabbat Dinner Apple Style

This week hillel will be hosting an Apple themed Shabbat Chicken Dinner.We plan to do some apple glazing, apple saucing, maybe even apple tarting! If you have any recommendations for recipes please do not hesitate to send them along! Feel free to hang around after dinner for an evening of board games and friendly rivalry!

Dan Lilkas-Rain, a 1996 alumnus of Alfred University (AU) with majors in Environmental Studies and Psychology, will deliver a talk, “ReClotheNY: New York’s Groundbreaking Textile Recovery Campaign” at the Oct. 7 Environmental Studies Speakers Series, scheduled for 12:20 p.m. in Room 247 of the Science Center on the Alfred University campus.

"The Wisdom of Frugality," a new book by Emrys Westacott, professor of philosophy at Alfred University (AU), has just been published by Princeton University Press. The book asks why so many philosophers, from Socrates to Thoreau, have advocated frugality and simple living, and why so many people continue to ignore them.
